in the event of a moon disaster has a director

In the Event of a Moon Disaster is an alternative reality film based on a speech written back in 1969 by presidential scriptwriter William Safire.  Safire wrote a speech for Richard Nixon in the event that the Apollo 11 mission that landed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin the moon ended in tragedy.

The project now has a director in the form of Tate Taylor who was behind The Help (2011) and whose next project, a James Brown biopic Get on Up, is due out later this summer.  It is not clear at this stage just how different the story will be to history.  Casting is underway and production should begin in 2015.
