I don’t remember there being a a clamoring for a third installment in the GI Joe franchise but Paramount are pushing ahead despite losing director John M Chu to a Jem And The Holograms project. Apparently this is based on an 80’s cartoon of some description. They were also careless enough to lose the scriptwriter Evan Daugherty (Snow White And The Huntsman) although no news on why.
The Studio is reportedly turning to Shooter (2007) writer Johnathan Lemkin who if you look back far enough has a history with The Hill Street Blues and wrote Keanu Reeves vehicle The Devil’s Advocate (1997).
Still no news on a director so we may be a couple of years away yet.
