just how much trouble is Ant-Man in?

Oh dear.  The news isn’t getting any better for Ant-Man. First the project lost its talisman Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World) and then his replacement as director was named as the mighty Peyton Reed, possibly best known for Bring It On (2000) or possibly The Break-Up (2006).  Now it is being reported by Latino Review that Marvel Studios has brought on ‘production writers’ to do rewrites of the script as required during filming.

If that isn’t a vote of no-confidence I don’t know what is.  The writers in question are Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari whose only noteworthy credit I can find is that they have written a script for a reboot of Sabrina The Teenage Witch.  I’m not sure what’s going on with this production.  The release date remains unchanged at July 2015 but the script remains in question and filming hasn’t begun.  One remains hopeful as Marvel has been on a hell of a run but they have to fail sometime.  Probably.
