editorial: hollywood’s originality knows no bounds

I was scanning the movie news today and I am so “excited” for all of the highly original content that is going to be coming our way in the next few years.  Batman v Superman, The Amazing Spider-Man 3, Thor 3, Captain America 3, Cinderella, Dumbo, a prequel to The Shining, The Jungle Book, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Point Break, Terminator …

My head is in my hands.  That being said I have to hold my hand up and say I do enjoy some of the franchises and watching some of the stories and characters grow.  So what the hell are we supposed to do?  I want to watch my favourites but I want to see new ideas.  Maybe I need to send a polite request to all of the studios with a list of the franchises I like and then a second list of those I don’t want to see.  The studios have me – I love the overall movie experience so I am going to keep going.

My biggest concern is that I may end up choking on my own vomit and my own hypocrisy.  I want the best of both worlds.  What about you good people? Is there anybody out there with a great idea for how we move forward.  I’m all out of ideas.  PLEASE HELP!
