UK Weekend Box Office – 14th to 16th November

I always said that film fans in the UK had excellent taste (if you ignore the Turtles and Transformers numbers).  Interstellar had a strong second week as takings fell a relatively small 30% week-on-week.  The film remained number one in the charts with a gross of £3.77m.  The main release last weekend was The Imitation Game that had a strong opening of £2.74m – in another week it could have been number one.

The top three was rounded out by Nativity 3: Dude Where’s my Donkey that opened over the weekend with £1.8m which is £1.79m more than I expected.  The film I saw on Monday night The Drop had a mediocre opening weekend at £0.64m in sixth place.

I’m betting £8m+ for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.
