There are very few films being released this week. There are two wide releases and a spattering of foreign language movies.
Friday 19th sees the release of the third installment of the Night at the Museum franchise, Secret of the Tomb. The film (and it’s a worrying sign) has decided to leave the shores of the USA behind and has moved to London. This time it would appear the magic is running out and the living museum pieces need to be saved.
I’ve forgotten how many decades it’s been since Dumb and Dumber came out but the sequel that no-one’s been asking for opens the same day. I’ll probably give it a shot but it failed to set the North American box office alight.
Let’s hope Boxing Day improves things. The latter half of the year has been a bit of a disappointment in terms of quality for me and it doesn’t look like this weekend is going to improve my opinion.
