Well it’s here – the first trailer for the final installment in the The Hunger Games franchise
I don’t think its unfair to state that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2015. Having teased us with a few character images the first trailer, albeit a teaser, has arrived. Truth be told I’m not thrilled by it. It’s OK, it’s functional, it does a job and it sets the plot out. It opens with a scene of celebration with a voice over from Katniss as if she is looking on from a distance dealing with the realisation that she has to go to war if she is going to protect this new found happiness. The time for talking is over.
Mockingjay – Part 2 will, for its set pieces, come down to a mental and physical showdown between Katniss and President Snow. There’s a fun scene in the trailer as we see Katniss back in the Capitol walking down the same ceremonial route we saw in the first two films although this time she has a few friends for company. The most interesting part of the trailer comes towards the very end as we get the hint that Snow may have turned the Capitol into something akin to a new epic games arena with a variety of nasty surprises. I’m looking forward to seeing how that plays out. Are you excited to see the finale? Let me know in the comments section below.
